Mela’s is at Hair Fair 2009! I’ll keep this post short on the words and get rid to the pics:
Half of all issy hairstyle sales are being donated to the Locks of Love charity organization. And there are three new colors, too: Carrot, Teal, and Zorprime Purple, because yes, I’m an unabashed Robotech fan-nerd. I will be updating the styles already available at Mela’s with these colors in a few days.
I’ve also set down a dollarbie box at my Hair Fair booth; here’s some of the poses I’ve thrown in there:

A sexy new couple’s pose is now available at Mela’s! He’s All Mine will have you possessively holding onto and leaning against your partner/significant other. Come on down to the store to try out the demo poseballs on the second floor.
Just in time for the holiday, Mela’s is having sale on all green hair — green hair in all styles have been marked down to 25L for the rest of this week. ^_^
Last but not least, Mela’s will be participating in the upcoming Bunny Hop Grid Hunt which is set to begin by 3/27/2009. I’ve made a bunch of poses for my hunt gift, here’s a pic of them <3 I’ll be sending out a reminder to Mela’s Update Group members when the hunt begins.

Mela’s now has spacious new digs at Lo Lo, and offers gift cards, too!
To celebrate the new main store and the gift card feature, gift card prices have been slashed 50% — just in time for the holiday season. They’ll make great stocking stuffers, or a nice gift for a newbie friend looking to give herself a makeover — or you can just treat yourself. 
The gift cards have actually been available for a while now but I held off blogging them because I wanted to give the system a good run-through first. If you were a member of the Mela’s Updates Group (not an SL group, this does not touch one of your 25 allowed groups), then you got two free 100L gift cards not too long ago as part of this. If you’d like to take advantage of surprise group-exclusive offers like this in the future, be sure to click the subscribe button on the group kiosk at the entrance next time you visit. Or, you can just IM me (Melanie774 Kidd) and I’ll be happy to add your name for you (but you should send a notecard if I am offline).
I’m also very happy to announce two new shape lines, Versatility and Specificity, in conjunction with our new Body Types. Versatility shapes are named thus because they are precisely that — versatile. Two new hairstyles are now available at Mela’s mainstore at Juicy.
The Lila and Lila II hairstyles both feature cute sculpted hats that are scripted to change textures; menu drops down allowing you to choose the color hat/ribbon trim you want. Also on the hat are two texture-change buttons so you can further customize your colors.
Lila has two ponytails in the back, and Lila II has a single ponytail.
Okay, I meant to do this next bit sooner but… never late than never, I suppose. I’ve stopped using the in-world update group and I’ve moved all members over to the new Subscriber Kiosk. To subscribe, all you have to do is visit the store and click the Subscribe button on one of the signs that has this image on it:
As a way of saying thank you to group members, to ‘celebrate’ having this new subscription format, and to give away a treat for today, I’ve made my first subscribers-only gift. The only way you can get it is if you’re subscribed to Mela’s Updates by sometime this afternoon; once it goes out, it will never be available again. It’s basically the Lila hair in five colors, and the hat comes with two textures that aren’t sold in-store. (Yeah, orange & black for Halloween :p )
Oh I almost forgot… I decided to try out the whole Flickr-store-group thing. I’m still thinking of what to do with it, I’m open to your suggestions. If you’d like to share any pics in which you’ve used items from Mela’s, please share them! I’d really love to see your images.

Where does the time go by? I can’t believe that the Juicy sim is now a year old. Amazing!
To celebrate, designers from all three Juicy sims (Juicy, Juicy Del Mar, and Juicy Bella) have put together some great birthday presents. If you’re a Fashion Planet follower, then you’ve probably already seen Adaire DeCuir’s nice write-up over at the SL Free*Style blog, and Gogo’s also covered some of my favorite finds in her own post at Juicybomb.com.
I’ve released a few items just for this event: some silly Princess Leia hair (yes, I am an incorrigible Star Wars nerd <3 I possess a great deal of useless knowledge regarding Star Wars minutiae [I've yet to be beaten at a game of SW Trivial Pursuit]), a trio of exclusive poses, and a special recoloring of my crown of thorns hair in a baby pink color.
And now for a brief trip down memory lane ^_^ Mela’s was one of the first stores to set up on the sim, and I’m glad I took a few shots over the past year.

I’ve put up two ponytail hairstyles for sale at Mela’s, located on Juicy sim. ^^ The katie and katie II hairs have different style bangs.
Also up for sale are some sweet candy corn earrings <3 Yum!
Also recently released was the molly hair, which comes with a sculpted bow that is scripted to change color via touch menu
Stop by at Mela’s (Juicy 203, 153, 26) and try on some demos, and help yourself to the freebies while you’re at it 
(On a side note, I am currently working on moving/updating the entire Mela’s store inventory at OnRez to make it easier to browse our listings and gift items to your friends. More news on that to follow at a later date ^^)

Just a really brief post for today; life’s been busy but hopefully I’ll be finishing up some of the things I’ve been working on for Mela’s. ^^
